DAMIEN GEST

Graduated in 2011 from the National School of Mirecourt, Damien worked seven years for Alexandre Snitkovski in Lyon, where he was trained to high restoration.

​

Passionate since his childhood by baroque music, he naturally specialized over the years for instruments with original setups.

​

Now established in a small village near Lyon (Trades, 69860), he spends his time making baroque and modern instruments inspired by the great italian makers, and also modern cellos in collaboration with David Leonard Wiedmer.

PRIZES AND AWARDS :

 

2018 – Gold medal at the VSA Competition (Violin Society of America) for a cello in collaboration with David Leonard Wiedmer

2016 - Special mention from Raphael Perraud in the VioloncelleenSeine competition for a cello in collaboration with David Leonard Wiedmer
